The Autumn Collection Is Here (Pumpkins, Ghosts, Bats and a Very Cosy Toadstool)

Autumn is easily my favourite thing to paint. Something about the colours, all that orange and rust and deep green, just makes we want to get the paints out and not stop. So here it is, the first proper drop of autumn cards, plus a couple of original paintings I got a bit carried away with along the way.

Everything here is hand-painted with Winsor & Newton watercolours, so no two cards are ever completely identical. That’s not a flaw, by the way, that’s just what happens when a person with a paintbrush is doing the work instead of a printer.

Pumpkin Card

A classic for a reason. An orange pumpkin with green and orange stripes and border detail around it, painted on 100% cotton watercolour paper. Blank inside, so it works for pretty much any autumn occasion, Halloween or otherwise.

Ghost Card

This one might be my favourite of the lot. A little ghost with a smiley face and a bow, surrounded by tiny daisies and cottagecore stripes in blue, green and yellow. Cute rather than creepy, which is exactly the kind of Halloween card I like sending.

Bat Card

A cute little bat with purple and green cottagecore detail, stripes and a wiggly border running round the edge. Another one for anyone who likes their Halloween cards a bit more charming than spooky.

Pumpkin Coffee Card

A pumpkin-shaped cup of coffee with a bow on top, orange and green cottagecore detail all around it. Made for anyone who counts down to pumpkin spice season every single year (no judgement, I’m one of them).

Toadstool Card

A red toadstool surrounded by autumn leaves, acorns and little flowers, proper cottagecore, like a tiny bit of forest floor tucked into an envelope. This one’s turned into a bit of a favourite while I’ve been painting the collection.

The Original Paintings

Two of these designs, the pumpkin coffee and the toadstool, liked their card versions so much they asked for a bigger version. Both are painted onto A5 watercolour paper, unframed, and signed. Since they’re hand-painted rather than printed, each one has its own small variations from the card design, which I think makes them nicer, not less matching.

If you fancy a card and its matching painting sat next to each other, that’s a nice little pairing, and one I’d genuinely recommend over buying two completely different designs.

Get Yours Before Autumn’s Over

These are hand-painted in small batches, so once a design’s gone for the season, it’s gone. You can browse the whole collection, plus everything else, over at A Little Painted Hello on Etsy.

Let me know which one’s your favourite, I’m torn between the ghost and the toadstool, and I painted them both.
